"My Number" is a 12-digit number assigned to every resident living in Japan.

The "My Number" system (Social Security and Tax Number System) is used by several organizations as a basis for carrying out the verification of personal information and will increase the efficiency and transparency of the Social Security and Tax System as well as form the social infrastructure for the realization of a society that is fair, just and useful to its residents.
