Coronavirus Vaccination Drive for Residents Aged 65+
Vaccination Drive Information in the Mail
Starting April 26, Seika Town has been mailing out packets containing group coronavirus vaccination drive information to the homes of eligible residents in Seika aged 65 years or older (perons born before April 1, 1957).
Getting the coronavirus vaccine is voluntary. Read the information about the coronavirus vaccine contained in the packet and decide whether or not to receive it only after understanding the potential risks involved.
If you are receiving medical treatment for a separate sickness or have any other concerns about the vaccine, please consult with a doctor regarding whether or not you should get the vaccine.
A general explanation of the vaccine and directions on how to make an appointment are included in the packet mailed to eligible persons. Both documents will be in Japanese. Links to digital versions can be found below.

Make an Appointment for Vaccination
You must make an appointment ahead of time to get vaccinated.
People that show up at the vaccination venue without an appointment will not be able to receive the vaccine.
Appointments can be made online through the webpage below or by phone through the vaccination the call center (Japanese only).

Appointment reservations will open at 9:00 a.m. on the specific dates detailed below.
Appointments cannot be made at Seika Town Office service windows.
- Group A: From May 7 (Fri.) 9:00 a.m.
- Group B: From May 21 (Fri.) 9:00 a.m.
Use the Appointment Webpage for a Stress-free Experience
The appointment call center is expected to be busy fielding calls during the entire reservation period.
If you are able to use the internet, it is recommended you make an appointment through the webpage mentioned above for a wait-free, stress-free experience.
If you are a family member that has a smartphone or computer that can help the eligible person, confirm their desire to receive the vaccine before making an appointment for them.
Vaccination Schedule
To benefit from the full effect of the vaccine, persons who have received the 1st dose of the vaccine are directed to take a 2nd dose (booster) three weeks after receiving the 1st.
An appointment for the 2nd dose will be made after receiving the 1st dose at the group vaccination venue.

Vaccination Locations
Vaccinations will take place in the gymnasiums of Seika Town elementary schools.

Parking will be available for those coming by car.
Beware of Vaccine-related Fraud
The vaccine is provided free of charge. No official body will ask you to pay to receive the vaccine.
Be wary of any phone calls, emails, or other correspondence asking you to transfer money to a separate bank account to skip the vaccination priority line.
If you come into receive any suspicous correspondence regarding the vaccine, ignore it and do not give them any banking or personal information.

Relief for persons who experience negative health impacts due to vaccine side-effects
If you experience serious negative side-effects as a consequence of receiving the vaccine, you may be eligible for relief (compensation for medical expenses, disability pension, etc.) through the Japanese Immunization Act.
